Welcome Hills School Visit & Cheque Handover

Jon, Andy & myself visited Welcome Hills School on Monday 10th Feb. Our vice chairman Jon presented the headmistress Vikky King with a cheque for £1550. This was 50% of the funds raised at our golf day, the balance being given to the Shakespeare's Hospice.
Vikky showed us around the school where we met & chatted to several children & staff. There is an obvious need for repairs to lots of equipment & especially in the home economics department. We suggested perhaps our donation would be well used in this area. Vikky agreed it would certainly boost staff morale & she will give consideration to our suggestion.

The school has a very high ratio of staff to pupils (almost one to one) & although receiving funding from government they need to raise funds each year for new equipment, decorating etc.  Undoubtedly, an uphill task!
